The Institute of Cognitive Science (ICS) at CU-Boulder has gained an international
reputation for its promotion of interdisciplinary research and training
in cognitive science. The institute is known for theory development and
the application of those theories to real-world problems. The institute
also houses three research centers, the Center for Lifelong Learning and
Design (L3D), The Center for Computational Language and Education Research (CLEAR) and the Center
for Research on Training (CRT).

- Congratulations to ICS Fellow Dr. Sarel VanVuuren on winning a CU Innovative Grant Program (IGP) grant awarded by the Vice-Chancellor for Research.
- ICS Fellow Professor Akira Miyake named one of two of the recipients of the 2008 CU Parents Association's Marinus G. Smith Recognition Award/
- Yuko Munakata was one of the 12 recipients of a faculty fellowship this year, awarded by CRCW- Congratulations!
- Walter Kintch is the first recipient of the Distinguished Scientific Contribution Award, presented by the Society for Text and Discourse.
- Brendan Depue, Tim Curran, and Marie Banich's article, "Prefrontal Regions Orchestrate Suppression of Emotional Memories via a Two-Phase Process" was published in Science
