Three ICS Fellows Receive Provost’s Faculty Achievement Awards

Congratulations to Philip Fernbach, Business, Rafael Frongillo, Computer Science, and Julia Staffel, Philosophy, who each received a Provost’s Faculty Achievement Award! Philip received the award for his research on knowledge overconfidence, extremism and the community of knowledge. Rafael won for his article entitled “Elicitation complexity of statistical properties.” Julia received the achievement award for her work on a new project in epistemology that challenges established theories about the nature of human reasoning. Kudos to each for excellence in their respective fields!

This is (Not) Who We Are will have a free screening during the CU Boulder Culture Crawl on October 19 at 7pm at Muenzinger Auditorium. This important documentary film highlights the disparity between Boulder’s progressive self-image versus the lived experience of its Black residents.
